Q: How much is it to dive?
Molokini Two-Tank Guided Dive, start priced at $249 per diver. This package includes two guided dives (the first at Molokini Crater), along with snacks, drinks, and fresh fruit. Gear rental and Nitrox are available as optional add-ons. For the Backwall of Molokini Crater Two Tank dive, the cost is $259, while the Carthaginian Shipwreck and Mala Wharf day dive is priced at $269.
Q: Do you provide gear or do I need my own?
A: We offer top-of-the-line rental gear for an additional charge, including Aqua Lung BCDs and regulators, TUSA masks and fins, and Sting J Maui and Aqua Lung wetsuits. You're welcome to bring your own gear as well. Tanks, weights, masks, and fins are free of charge and included in the base price. As well snorkelers get masks, fins, and wetsuit top free of charge.
Q: How many divers per group?
A: We keep it personal — a maximum of 7 divers per divemaster for safety, attention, and an elevated experience.
Q: What if the weather is bad?
A: If we cancel due to unsafe weather or ocean conditions, you can reschedule or receive a full refund. Your safety and comfort come first.
Q: How deep do we dive?
A: The first dive at Molokini Crater usually starts just above 100 feet, with a long, gradual profile. The second site is shallower, chosen for the best conditions and marine life.
Q: What type of tanks do you use?
A: We use standard Aluminum 80s with yoke valves for all dives. If you use DIN regulators, no worries — DIN adapters are available upon request. Just let us know when you book. Upon special request we do have a limited number of 100 cu. ft aluminum tanks.
Q: Do you offer Nitrox?
A: Yes! Nitrox 32% is available as an add-on for certified divers. The upgrade is $25 per diver, and it’s a great option for longer bottom times and reduced fatigue.
Q: What if I haven’t dived in a while?
A: If it’s been more than 3 years since your last dive, we require a refresher or check dive for your safety and comfort. Fortunately our Dive Shop Maui Dreams Dive Company can handle it! So give us a call and we can get you scheduled. If you're unsure, give us a call — we’ll guide you to the best option.
Q: What if the weather is bad on the day of my dive?
A: Your safety is always our top priority. If ocean or wind conditions are unsafe, we’ll reschedule your trip or offer a full refund — your choice. We monitor conditions closely and will notify you as early as possible.
Q: What’s the water temperature like in Maui?
A: Maui’s water temperature typically ranges from 75°F (24°C) in winter to around 81°F (27°C) in summer. We provide 3mm or 5mm wetsuits depending on the season and your comfort level.
Q: Are tanks and weights included in the price?
A: Yes — tanks, weights, mask, and fins are all included in the base price of your dive. If you need additional gear like a BCD, wetsuit, or regulator, full rental packages are available for an additional fee.

A: Yes! Maui Dreams Dive Co. has a full-service dive shop located in South Maui.

Q: Is diving in Maui good for beginners?
A: Absolutely! Maui offers a wide range of dive sites perfect for beginners, including calm shore dives with easy entry and shallow reefs teeming with marine life. We also offer Discover Scuba Diving experiences for those who aren't certified yet but want to try it out with a professional guide.
Q: Will I see turtles when diving in Maui?
A: Very likely! Maui is home to the Hawaiian green sea turtle (honu), and they’re often spotted during our dives — especially at popular reef sites and lava formations. While we can’t guarantee sightings, turtles are common and one of the top highlights for divers here.
Q: Do you offer shore dives?
A: Yes, we do! Shore dives are offered daily through Maui Dreams Dive Co. and are a great way to explore Maui’s vibrant reefs without needing a boat. They're perfect for certified divers of all experience levels — especially those looking for a relaxed, affordable, and beautiful dive.
Our favorite local sites often include lava rock formations, turtles, eels, and tons of tropical fish — all just steps from the beach.
Q: What time do we meet and where?
A: All Dives regardless of the excursion Check-in is at 6:10 AM sharp at the Kihei Boat Ramp.

Look for the Island Style Diving / Maui Dreams Dive Co. crew on the big white boats. We recommend arriving early to find parking (please use the public lot, not trailer stalls). Our boats usually return by around 12:00 PM, depending on conditions.
